Employment Information
Elm Design Co., Ltd. is a design company that is wholly owned by Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.
Our work involves taking the styling and design concepts of Yamaha Motor products and giving them a concrete form that can be taken out and presented to the world. Thus, our work is both challenging and rewarding.
If you enjoy working in global, active fields such as Japan, Asia, Europe and other countries, this work is for you.
If you are someone who's interested in and curious about anything and everything, you're someone we'd like to talk to, and we look forward to seeing your application.
Elm Design is not presently recruiting recent graduates.
We are continuing to accept applications from mid-career applicants, however.

What the work
involves
[Product Design]
This work involves building product concepts and bringing styling products that are rich in originality to completion. Not only do product designers give concrete form to product images; they also need to consider the design from multiple angles, such as from the standpoint of providing a fuller complement of functions based on users' needs. In particular, we want to have the product designer involved in all of the processes, from the project startup to the coloring and production, so you'll have the opportunity to engage in a full range of experiences and achievements that you never come close to in ordinary product design work. We also cover foreign markets in Europe, ASEAN countries and other parts of the world, so you'll have many opportunities to take part in field studies and to reside overseas. If you're a self-motivated person who opens up new roads for yourself and draws on experience to build capability, you will find a wealth of opportunities in this work.
*Product design work also includes advanced designs.

[Coloring and graphic design]
This work involves seeking out tastes and trends in coloring and graphic design through communication with the market, and reflecting them in designs.
Markets in which we're active include primarily ASEAN countries, Japan and Europe. The key point in this work is communication with the target user. Based on that communication, the graphic designer compiles market information directly from the source and then works with the Product Planning and Sales Divisions to create the product concept and design. Designers can also have a hand in putting together promotion methods. If you're a person who would enjoy conversing directly with overseas users and then challenging your own sensibilities, this is the ideal work for you.
